Yaser Khalil Awarded Joseph J. Smith '45 Scholarship From Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute #RPI

Yaser Khalil was one of nine engineering undergraduate students to be award the Joseph J. Smith Jr. '45 Scholarship during the 2013 Honors Convocation ceremony held Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Khalil studies Mechanical Engineering at Rensselaer.

The annual ceremony honors Rensselaer students who exhibit an unquenchable delight in learning and who have achieved the highest levels of academic success. Reserved for transfer students joining Rensselaer from two-year colleges, the Joseph J. Smith Jr. '45 Scholarship recognizes individuals who were the most outstanding engineering science students at their previous schools.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, founded in 1824, is the nation's oldest technological research university. The university offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in engineering, the sciences, information technology, architecture, management, and the humanities and social sciences.
