Madeline Dery Named National Academic All-America

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) has announced the women's track & field/cross country National Academic All-America honorees and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Madeline Dery of Putnam Valley 10579 was among those recognized.

MADDIE DERY (Jr.), who is majoring in Chemical Engineering - Indoor: 2016 NCAA All-America in 3000 (6th)…Ninth in Distance Medely Relay…New York State Meet DMR champion…All-Liberty League Second Team in 3000…All-Region in 3000 and DMR… Cross Country: Captain…Team was school record ninth at NCAAs, third at Atlantic Regional and first at Liberty League Championship (1st in school history)…All-Region (12th) & All-Liberty League First Team (7th)…68th at NCAAs…Outdoor: Competed at NCAA Championship in 5000 meters...Held school record in 3k SC…New York State Meet champion and Liberty League runner-up,,,Team won Liberty League championship…2015 NCAA qualifier in 3000 steeple chase…Resident Assistant… Chemistry Mentor…Two engineering honor societies…Intern at Akzo Nobel.
