Madeline Dery Earns All-Region in Track and Field

The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's and women's track & field teams are well represented on the the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Team as nine different student-athletes captured 15 honors, including Madeline Dery of Putnam Valley.

Dery (Mahopac) is a mid-distance runner who earned All-Region in the steeplechase. Dery, a junior who will compete in the event in the NCAA Championship for the second straight year, had a personal-record time of 10:55.88, which is 21st in the country. She set that mark at the Liberty League Meet.

To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region or be part of a top-3 relay team. Each of Rensselaer's selections were for individual efforts.
