Jaime Lord Earns Major Liberty League Award

The Liberty League has announced its year-end award winners for men's and women's indoor track & field and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Jaime Lord of Stony Point was among the major award winners.

A distance runner, Lord (North Rockland HS) was chosen as the Women's Track Performer of the Year. She competed in 10 races as an individual this season and finished in the top three in nine of them, including the 3000 meters at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship to earn National All-America. She began the season with a win in the 1000 at Bowdoin College (personal collegiate best 2:58.62) before crossing first in the 3000 at Ithaca College with a facility record time of 10:06.16. She finished second in the 800 at Middlebury College (personal collegiate best 2:19.91) and first in the mile at Dartmouth College (5:03.80) before competing in three events at the Liberty League Championship Meet. At the league meet, Lord won the mile (personal collegiate best 4:57.38) and was third in the 800 (2:20.41), while also competing on the first place distance medley relay team (11:59.80). Three more events followed at the New York State Championship, including another win in the DMR in which the team broke the school record by more than 25 seconds, posting a time of 11:59.89. At the Tufts University Final Qualifying Meet, Lord finished first in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:45.58, giving her the third best time in NCAA Division III and the school record on a flat track. She finished the season at the NCAA Meet, where she broke her own school record with a time of 9:40.01 and helped the distance medley relay team to another school record (11:55.17) and a ninth place finish. Lord, an All-America in cross country in the fall, was the Liberty League Track Performer of the Week four times in indoor this season.
