Jaime Lord Earns All-Region in Track and Field

2016 May 25

The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's and women's track & field teams are well represented on the the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Team as nine different student-athletes captured 15 honors, including Jaime Lord of Stony Point.

Lord (North Rockland), a mid-distance runner, qualified for All-Region in the 1500 meters, steeplechase and 5000 meters after setting career-bests in all three events. She ran the 1500 in 4:32.12 at the MIT Quad in early April and ranks 18th nationally. Her time of 10:46.92 in the 3000 steeplechase came at the conference meet and ranks 10th nationally, while her 5000 meter effort of 16:41.39 is fifth in Division III. She reached that mark at the Silfen Invitational on April 16. Lord will compete in the NCAA Championship in the 1500 and 5000 meters.

To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region or be part of a top-3 relay team. Each of Rensselaer's selections were for individual efforts.
