Christopher Holomakoff Named All-Liberty League in Baseball

The Liberty League has announced its year-end award winners from baseball and six Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athletes have been recognized, including Christopher Holomakoff of Norwalk.

A senior catcher named Honorable Mention, Holomakoff was third on the team this year with a .306 batting average (19 for 62). He recorded two doubles, seven runs scored and six RBI, with a .339 slugging percentage and a .394 on-base percentage. Defensively, he threw out 30.1% of potential base stealers (8 of 26). Holomakoff concludes his career at RPI with a .266 lifetime average. He picked up 47 hits in 177 at-bats, including five doubles and one home run. The Brien McMahon High School graduate also had 24 runs and 25 RBI, with a .311 slugging percentage and a .372 on-base percentage.

The Engineers went 16-27 this season, including a 13-11 mark in the Liberty League. Qualifying for the conference tournament as the fourth seed, RPI made the championship round, before falling to top seed Union College.
