Christian Kapp Captures Liberty League Award

Christian Kapp of Amawalk was recognized by the Liberty League with a weekly award for a strong effort on the gridiron in a championship game win.

A sophomore kicker, Kapp (Iona Prep.) was chosen as Special Teams Performer of the Week after connecting on both field goal attempts and both point-after attempts against the Benglas. He made a season-long 40-yard field goal to put the Engineers ahead 3-0 in the first quarter and then tied the game at 13-13 with a 24-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Kapp also kicked off five times for 264 yards, a 52.0 per attempt average. In 11 games this season, he made six field goals and kicked off 56 times. He averaged 55.5 yards per kickoff attempt with seven touchbacks.
