Benjamin Fazio Earns Liberty League Weekly Honor

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Benjamin Fazio of East Greenwich 02818 has been selected for a weekly award by the Liberty League for his outstanding efforts in cross country.

Fazio (East Greenwich HS) finished first on the team with a time of 18:28. He was the first Division III finisher, trailing only two student-athletes from Siena. A two-time NCAA All-America, Fazio is a three-time All-Liberty League honoree and a three-time All-Region award recipient, finishing fourth in both events in 2015 and second and eighth, respectively, as a sophomore. A materials engineering major who has earned Dean's List status, Fazio has seven weekly league awards to his credit.

The Engineers are back on the course on Saturday when they compete in the Ron Stonitsch Invitational at Vassar College on Saturday at 10am. RPI was second of 10 schools in the event last season.
