Benjamin Fazio Captures Liberty League Award

Benjamin Fazio of East Greenwich was recognized by the Liberty League with a weekly award after an All-America effort in cross country.

A junior, Fazio (East Greenwich, HS) was recognized on the Men's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll after earning National All-America by finishing 20th at the NCAA Championship, running the 8k course in a time of 24:72.2 despite getting tripped up and falling during the race. He ran as an individual. It is the second straight year he has earned All-America after finishing 26th as a sophomore. A competitor in seven meets this year, Fazio had two victories - the 302-person Saratoga Invitational and 534-person Mike Woods Invitational - with a runner-up (Bates College) and a third place finish (Rowan). The only time he finished out of the top four was at the NCAA meet. A three-time Liberty League Performer of the Week, Fazio was All-League First Team and All-Region before earning All-America.
