Andrew Gondek Captures Liberty League Award

Andrew Gondek of Ballston Spa was recognized by the Liberty League with a weekly award for his efforts on the soccer pitch.

A junior center back from Ballston Spa, N.Y., Gondek helped the Engineers to a 2-0 week, scoring a goal, while aiding a back line that surrendered one goal (a penalty kick) on just six shots. RPI allowed four shots on goal to Stockton in a 2-1 win on Friday and just two to William Patterson in a 2-0 shutout victory on Saturday. He netted the game-winning goal against the Pioneers - the second of his collegiate career. Gondek has started all five games for the Engineers this season and is averaging a field-player best 88.8 minutes per match. Recording one goal for two points, the former Ballston Spa High School standout has three shots and one game-winning tally to his credit.
